Everything You Need to Know About Our Rubrics and Services
Do your Performance Assessment Rubrics guarantee compliance?
Our development team follows strict standards when writing our resources. We follow ASQA's guidelines during development of our Rubrics and apply feedback from previous audits and client response. We are confident in the quality of our Rubrics.
For more information on how we developed our Rubrics according to ASQA’s guidelines Click Here.
In addition, all our Performance Assessment Rubrics are validated to meet compliance guidelines. We have an extensive validation process in place. Each resource is developed by a subject matter expert then sent to compliance experts for validation. The resources are then double-checked for quality and compliance requirements again.
Will the Performance Assessment Rubrics pass audit?
We are confident that our Rubrics will meet the audit requirements. The Rubrics have undergone scrutiny by ASQA Auditors during numerous Performance Assessment Audits and have consistently demonstrated Compliance as an effective Learning Resource and Practical Assessment Instrument.
Given their adherence to ASQA's guidelines, why would they fail audits?
Have your Rubrics undergone any trials or testing before being made available?
Prior to making these Rubrics available for purchase, we conducted extensive trials, with several RTOs, spanning several months, and the results have been nothing short of extraordinary, establishing their efficacy and reliability.
ASQA does not offer guidance on creating resources or assessment tools. How can you claim adherence to ASQA guidelines in developing the Rubrics?
While it is accurate that ASQA generally does not provide specific guidance on developing resources or assessment tools, our statement regarding adherence to ASQA's guidelines is grounded in the fact that ASQA has offered detailed instructions on developing Observation Instruments that include observable behaviours. This aspect is closely related to the development of our Rubrics. We ensured that our Rubrics align with these guidelines, maintaining a commitment to best practices and standards set forth by ASQA.

How to Effectively use the multi-purpose Rubrics for Training and Assessment and for other RTO practices?

Are the Quality Indicators in our current assessment tools, similar to the Observable Behavioural Tasks in your Rubrics?
No, they are quite different from each other.
Quality Indicators can be subject to varying interpretations among assessors, leading to potential inconsistency in assessment outcomes. Due to their brief nature, Quality Indicators do not provide a comprehensive view of a candidate's performance, potentially missing nuanced aspects.
Behavioural Tasks offer greater reliability in assessment by providing specific, observable
actions that leave less room for subjective interpretation. They contribute to a more thorough evaluation of a student's skills and knowledge, allowing for a holistic understanding of performance.
While Quality Indicators may suffer from subjectivity and brevity, Behavioural Tasks excel in providing a reliable and comprehensive basis for assessment.
Which other areas can the Rubrics be used in beside learning and assessment purposes?
Our Rubrics have versatile applications beyond learning and assessment. They can be used in the following capacities:
Student Self-Learning/Study & Assessment Preparation Activities: Boost student learning and assessment readiness and allocate an additional 5-8 hours per week to the Volume of Learning, of your courses, within your TASs, providing tangible evidence of their completion of self-learning, study, and assessment preparation activities.
RPL Kits: Integrate the Rubrics into your Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Kits, to enhance the assessment process for individuals with prior experience or qualifications.
Integration in RPL kits will provide clear and sufficient observable behaviour tasks to
applicants to demonstrate their skills and knowledge for the unit of competency they are being assessed for.
Assessment Validation: Enhance your assessment validation sessions, for the whole five-year validation plan/schedule, by integrating the Rubrics into your current assessment tools, which will serve as an invaluable outcome for these
sessions. For instance, if the validation team identifies areas for improvement in the assessment process, the Rubrics can be recommended as Gap Assessments to enhance compliance and assessment practices.
Contextualisation of Training and Assessment Materials: Units of competency are often ambiguous or vague. This is not a design fault of the Australian VET system. It is a design feature. When writing the units of competency, the Training Package Developers aim to describe elements and performance criteria as broadly as possible. This allows a single unit to cover a range of circumstances and situations.
The Rubrics will allow you to contextualise your training and assessment materials to fit different workplaces, different work tasks and activities, different facilities, equipment and resources, etc. It is a way of making learning and assessing relevant to a person's workplace experience.
Continuous Improvement Activities: Enhance the quality of your education and training by incorporating and applying the Rubrics to your learning and assessment materials. These actions are regarded as continuous improvement activities that contribute to refining your training and assessment practices.
Why are there Observable Behavioural Actions associated with each Performance Criterion?
The Performance Criteria holds significant importance within any unit of competency. Performance Criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the Elements and the actual Performance Evidence tasks.
Understanding how to demonstrate the Performance Criteria is essentially a prerequisite for competently demonstrating the required Performance Evidence tasks.
The inclusion of Observable Behavioural Actions associated with each Performance Criterion serves the purpose of providing students with a clear understanding on how to demonstrate their skills and knowledge when fulfilling the Performance Evidence requirements.
Will the Rubrics integrate seamlessly with our current assessment tools?
The Observable Behavioural Actions in the Rubrics are precisely aligned with the Units of Competency, not tied to any specific assessment tools. Whether you're using internally developed or purchased assessment tools, the Rubrics will function effectively with them.

The choice of using Rubrics can be adapted to your RTO practice, allowing flexibility for both electronic and hard copy formats based on your preference or specific requirements.
The Rubric contains many observable behavioural actions/tasks, can I remove certain tasks from the Rubric?
Every Rubric is designed with an ample number of observable behavioural actions/tasks corresponding to each Performance Criterion and Performance Evidence requirements outlined in the Unit of Competency Details on TGA. You have the flexibility to delete any behavioural actions, ensuring it doesn't impact the overall assessment requirements or process.
Is it advisable to exclusively employ the Rubrics as the sole assessment tool for evaluating students' practical skills?

Do you offer any other resources than Performance Assessment Rubrics?
At AssessRight Solutions, we understand the unique challenges that RTOs face in today's educational landscape. Many businesses offer complete packages of training and assessment resources, but we've focused on a crucial aspect that can often lead to non-compliance during ASQA audits: The Practical Assessment.
Practical assessments are the cornerstone of ensuring that students have truly acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their chosen fields. But here's the catch - without the right tools in place, it's easy to fall short of the stringent audit requirements set forth by
ASQA (the Australian Skills Quality Authority). Keep in mind, the Most Common
Non-compliance Issues that are Found During an ASQA Audit are in the Practical Assessment Tools.
Our core solution revolves around Performance Assessment Rubrics, meticulously crafted tools tailored to ensure that students effectively and conclusively demonstrate their skills and knowledge, precisely in line with Units’ of Competency details and Assessment Requirements.
